Yoe!

I'm andrew, the webmaster / artist / animator / guy that runs this whole operation. I initially made this just as a place to have a portfolio, but over the past year it's quickly ballooned into a hub for all my creative endeavours. It's always a work-in-progress, but I think now it's shaped into something that I'd call presentable. IDK, my self-imposed standards rise quicker than my age so I'm sure within a months time I'll already be sick of the current layout and want to update it orz
Anyway, feel free to poke around wherever you want- there's a few easter eggs hidden around the site with more to come, so I encourage exploring!

[webring]

Here you can find every single button that appears in the right bar of the site (excluding the easter egg ones.) Most of them are friends of the site and fellow artists, some are other neocities sites I think are really cool, and the last few are just links to misc music videos and shows- but I'd suggest checking each and every one out, if you like what you've seen on my site you'll definitely like whats on these!

And if you'd like to add my site to yours, I've got two buttons available right here!
(Please don't hotlink!)

If you were interested in getting your site featured on mine, shoot me an email with a link to it, I'd love to take a look! If I like what I see I'll let you know and add your site in the next update.

All buttons need to be in a .GIF/.PNG format and a resolution of 800x200 (landscape) to fit properly! I know it's an odd resolution compared to other sites, but iunno I kinda like how it looks :J I've included a template below with the proper dimensions if you wanna make your own!

[Make a website!]

This site is being hosted completely for FREE on NEOCITIES! If you're sick of all of the internet's content being limited to just 5 social media sites, I highly encourage you to make you own website! Not only is it incredibly fufilling to contribute to a project like this, but its a great way for you to really show off what you're about, without the constraints and minimalistic requirements of modern Internet!

"But andrew, that would take forever! And I don't even know how to code-" DON'T WORRY! I got you COVERED my friend! Just for reference, I first started really working on my website around late 2022. Back then, it looked a lot more like a dried up skeleton compared to now.

It wasn't until another few months of picking up some coding knowledge and slowly chipping away that the website started to resemble what it looks like today, and even THEN I'd still consider it barebones- you could say the first version of the site was the fetus and this one is a little baby.

The point I'm trying to make is that working on a website is a long term project! Much like learning how to draw or how to create music, it's a journey! "OK, but andrew! I still dont know how to code!-" DON'T WORRY! I have some resources, but I also want to explain my approach to learning how to code and why it might be beneficial for you, especially if youre an artist like me cause you're probably a visual learner / have ADHD, so this would probably be your go to method for learning anything.

[HTML & CSS Resources]

First things first, the main places I've used to get my web coding knowledge from are as follows:

[My Learning Method]

Of course you don't have to use this if you already have a solid learning method, but I thought I'd might as well offer this for people who want to make a website, but don't know where to start.

  1. Set a vision
  2. So, of course with every project, you first need a vision. Either that be a simple blog page, an interactive museum, an invitation to a wedding, etc. etc.- just find out what it is you want to do. And you can go as out or in depth as you want with this part! For example, before I add a new page to the site I'll sketch out what it's supposed to look like on paper to get a goal to aim for. This leads into the next point:

  3. Figure out what needs to be done
  4. After you figure out what you want to make, now you gotta figure out what needs to be done to get there. Need to make a box for all your text to sit in? Learn how to use a div! The website will need a consistient layout? Figure out how to style a div container! The website will need a navigation bar? Well figure out how to turn images into links! Your best friend during the initial learning process here will be google (I mean, you should know how to work a search engine by now...)

The way I learned how to do pretty much everything that's done on this site is by having something I wanted to do, then just googling "how to do" what I need, and I think by doing that instead of going through an entire HTML/CSS class or online course really helped me actually retain the knowledge and know how to manipulate it to do the stuff I want.

[ Y O U H A V E N O E X C U S E S ! ! ! ]

There's someone out there waiting to see what YOU can do given the tools to make your own website, don't keep them waiting!!!

To get your button here, please check out the information on the about page.
